The internet is awesome.
Yeah, it can put a lot of additional stress on our shoulders but Facebook and Instagram have led me to some super cool people who I adore working with.
Enter Modesto blog. Almost a year ago now Ali reached out to me via Instagram to do a styled shoot for her blog and we've worked together and collaborated on many projects since. Ali contacted me with this idea that she'd been working on with photographer Rachael Baskerville ( coincidentally, I also first met Rachael on a shoot for a magazine that posted on Insta looking for a makeup artist) and of course I was gonna jump at the chance to work with these rad ladies again.
So if you google the William Jolly Bridge which connects South Brisbane to Roma Street across the Brisbane river it'll give you an idea of how chock a block it gets during peak hour and due to some unforeseen circumstances ( the fact that none of us realised there was a Broncos game on that day) it took waaaaaayyy longer than the normal 15 minute drive for us to get from Ali's place to South Bris, and by way longer I mean it took us nearly 45 min. Usually a shoot will take a couple of hours and in that time you'll get in about 4-6 outfits but because of the unexpected delay we were losing that gorgeous Golden Hour light fast and cramed 4 outfits into a 20 min shoot.
The light was great but I probs wouldn't recommend rushing a shoot like that ever... especially not during peak hour. Or on a game day.
